Sentence Combining and Further Research

Yo! You probably think you’re some kind of wordsmith, grammar master, ace linguist (note my use of asyndeton!). Oh, that reminds me of something we used to say in middle school back in the day: You think you’re hot snot on a silver platter, but you’re really just cold boogers on a paper plate! Oof–that just made me a little bit nauseous . . . oh yeah, so, let’s see you put your skills to the test in this exercise.

Combine these sentences!

  • She was our Latin teacher.
  • We were in high school.
  • She was tiny.
  • She was a birdlike woman.
  • She was swarthy.
  • She had dark eyes.
  • Her eyes were sparkling.
  • Her hair was graying.
